APRA and MIR complete integration

The integration of payment systems was preceded by a number of activities, as a result of which the main directions of intersystem interaction were determined, as well as a roadmap for the project was developed. In 2018, the work on organizing interaction between the APRA PS and the MIR PS entered an active phase. Based on the previously agreed principles of interaction and the developed roadmap, technical interaction of the national payment systems "APRA" - "MIR" was implemented.

From June 2019 the infrastructure of the APRA PS has become fully accessible to MIR cardholders. To date, in the terminal network of the APRA PS the MIR PS cards have been used for transactions worth about RUB 300 million.

The next stage of intersystem interaction was the organization of servicing APRA cards in the infrastructure for accepting MIR cards. Within the framework of this stage, work was carried out aimed at preparing the personalization center of the NPS "APRA" for the issuance of new payment cards ready for servicing outside the Republic of Abkhazia. As a result of the second stage of the integration implementation, the partner banks of the APA "APRA" became available to a new emission product - the APRA "Mir" bank card, which should become a means of payment for the population of Abkhazia with a wide geography of use.

Holders of new APRA cards will be able to carry out operations to withdraw cash from ATMs and cash desks of banks, as well as transactions to pay for goods and services in POS-terminals, retail outlets in the Russian Federation and a number of other countries. During October 2019, the banks of Abkhazia will start issuing new APRA "Mir" cards.
